And just like that, Mr. Morris disappeared. Kinda like a match blown out.

Wow, looks like the WT writers had access to 50 - 80 books on the Occult and Witchcraft. I hope everyone just lets that sink in a minute.

Lawyers release survey on alleged Jehovah's Witness child abuse
by Tahoe ina team of lawyers has released the results of its survey on alleged child abuse by members of the jehovah's witnesses religious group in japan.. the team held a news conference in tokyo on monday.
it provides legal support to former members of the group as well as to children of its members.. the lawyers conducted the survey, following the publishing of the health and welfare ministry guidelines last year about child abuse related to parents' religious beliefs.
a total of 560 people responded.. the survey shows 81 percent of the respondents said they had cards indicating they desired to refuse blood transfusions.. the ministry's guidelines state that parents' refusal of medical treatments for children on religious grounds amounts to neglect --- a form of abuse.. the lawyers said investigations are necessary to find how many people died from refusing blood transfusions, and how many of them were children.. the survey also shows 92 percent of the respondents experienced whipping, 96 percent were banned from school activities, and 93 percent were forced to limit their human relations.. the lawyers said many of the children experienced physical and mental abuse, which afterward led to problems such as loneliness, sense of alienation and a lack of self-esteem.

Yes, I remember those days. Smoked a lot of weed back then to cope.

Covid Vx likened to Jesus ransom
by KerryKing inthis morning i decided to log into the local cong meeting on zoom, during the public talk the speaker likened the covid vx to jesus ransom sacrifice, saying that those who didn't avail of the vx, the 'anti vaxxers', are just like people who refuse to put faith in jesus.. i felt sick, knowing my unvxed but active jw parents were sitting there, i logged off immediately.
surely such talk is pure blasphemy or am i just over reacting?!.
i appreciate your thoughts, it will hopefully help me to approach my jw family with facts and logic, i'm praying they wake up fully and 'get out of her', i know they have reservations that's why they refused the vx..

Religions - including WT although God's chosen religion on earth at this time/gag me -- were compensated generously for promoting adherents to follow the gov's recommendations. Since when have religions turned down money -- not happenin'!!
@LV101 Do you have a source for this?
I know that Baptists generally promote separation of church and state. Churches receive no government money here in the USA. The one Baptist church I helped get built in Europe rejected government money even though it was available. I'm sure that not all Baptist churches are the same, but that is the general consensus among Baptists.

GOVERNING BODY: the role of CONSISTENCY in identifying malpractice and malfeasance
by Terry inconsistency plays a crucial role in determining the inherent truthfulness of statements and sources.
reliability of information: if a source consistently provides accurate information, it builds trust and is considered reliable.
inconsistent information, on the other hand, can lead to doubts about the source’s credibility.. .

Thank you Terry for posing this. Consistency should be a characteristic of any worldview.
Imagine being a 14 year old JW kid who has:
1. Been denied playing sports in school even though at WT headquarters the leaders have unlimited access to olympic swimming pools, tennis courts, golf and raquet ball courts.
2. Been told that he cannot attend college to maximize his God-given gifts
3. Been forced to adhere to 100's of made-up, changing, unbiblical rules that make them a marginal member of their school and laughing stock among their peers.
And then, he reads stuff like what you just posted here. Can he go to his family and express his concerns? We all know how that conversation will end. He will be shut down and likely lectured on subjects of loyalty, apostasy, getting his thinking adjusted, "where else could we go", blah, blah, blah.
If he persists out of concern for his family possibly being on the wrong track, the family will likely marginalize him, shame him, start leaving him out of family activities, take him to psychologists and may even put them out on the street.
His own family has been effectively weaponized against him as enforcers of the WT mind-control. Many JW kids turn to drugs and "act out" in other ways to help them cope with the abuse from their loved ones as they begin their journey of waking up and as they start examining the families' denials, and dark, dirty little secrets. Then, that kid gets labelled as not spiritual, fleshly and rebellious, when in reality the drugged-out, fornicating and rebellious child is probabllly the most honest one of the whole bunch and is just trying to get some psychological relief from the crazy train he finds himself on.
It is just hideous what cults do to families. The graveyards are full of the ones who never made it quite far enough out to shed the shame that was heaped upon their questioning soul.
I pray everyday for God to abolish the WT system of abuse. It is one of the biggest turds the devil has ever made. -

Who Really is the Evil Slave?

‘Tanning the Old Lady’s Hide’
On Saturday, September 18, 1937 following his morning discourse, Rutherford released the tan-colored book Enemies. It denounced Christians as “a great enemy, always working injury to mankind.” Christians were identified as “agents of the Devil, whether they are aware of that fact or not.” When presenting the book to the audience, Rutherford said: “You will notice that its cover is tan, and we will tan the old lady’s hide with it.”
To this the audience gave loud and enthusiastic approval.

I think that CT Russell and the WT are known for starting off a topic in one direction and then end up doing the exact opposite. This provides future quotes for either position that can later be taken out of context so that the manipulator can have it both ways, as needed.
I can't help but notice vienne that you seem to be quite an apologist for CT Russell and the WT in general prior to the Rutherford takeover. Isn't there anything that makes you question Russels' claim for having been appointed as the "sacred" Laodician Messenger and THAT SERVANT in charge of all of Christ's interests? It makes me wonder if your family is associated with one of the offshoots of the early followers of Russel?

Ask 8.5 million Jehovah's Witnesses if they are saved or if all of their sins are forgiven and you can expect evasive answers.
Exactly Vanderhoven. The reason is that there is a very long list of things to acheive. This article gives a partial list:
What Is Needed for Salvation? w67 12/1 pp. 707-711 This article says you need:
BIBLE STUDY (How much is enough?)
EXERCISE OF FAITH (Works... no mention of how much is necessary)
RIGHT ASSOCIATION (Only JW's)
A NEW PERSONALITY (How good of a personality is good enough?)
THE PREACHING REQUIREMENT (How much is needed?)
THE STEP OF DEDICATION (Baptism in the name of "doctrines unique to Jehovah's Witnesses")
ENDURE FOR THE REWARD (Life is to be endured. JW's must live a defeated life)
Sadly, Jesus did not make the list of things you need for salvation in this article.
The hope that JW's have is the same kind of hope a person has when they purchase a lottery ticket. The WT is fond of quoting OT verses to describe it: "seek meekness, seek righteousness...probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger". - Zeph. 2: 3
By contrast, the New Testament hope of salvation is similar to when you are waiting for a new car to be delivered that has already been purchased. It just needs a little prep work first. You already have the legal right to it.
1 John 5: 11-13 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life
